«The rhythms of jazz»: from the History of the Soviet Piano Miniature in 1920-ies |

This article is devoted to piano pieces of jazz style in the works of Soviet composers of the 1920-ies, among which M. Blanter, J. Hite, Y. Milyutin, A. Tsfasman. In this period of time, due to the policies of the Soviet government, musical culture is a large degree of freedom, which stimulates the appearance of many jazz miniatures, addressed to a wide circle of music lovers. Interest to jazz models can be found in the works of composers of the classical tradition, among them Y. Crein, An. Alexandrov and the representative of the first Russian avant-garde L. Polovinkin, repeatedly applying in his work to the genre of the Foxtrot. In hole, the introduction into the consciousness of the national audience the elements of jazz music is an essential factor in the development of ideas about the diversity of musical art.
