Music and Time Annotation << Back Paul Hindemith’s Chamber Sonatas: Cooperation of Genres L.M. Korchinskaya This article is devoted to the chamber music of Paul Hindemith. The article points out the question about the genre of the composer’s method, new interpretations of well-known genres, synthesis of genres. The author of the article refers to the chamber sonatas of Hindemith for solo instrument with piano. For example, the individual compositions are identified genre basics of each part, which is analyzed in the sonata. Interpreting of different genres, Hindemith keeps them recognizable, with an emphasis on esthetic and philosophical ideas, which are shown in each genre presented in the sonatas. The article emphasizes the importance and significance of this study for musicologists and performers and contributes to a more accurate disclosure of the composers` intentions, ideas and concepts of compositions.
