Music and Time Annotation << Back «Night Clouds»: Georgy Sviridov’s Cantata in the Mirror of the Concept of the Russian Symbolism of Alexander Blok Y.M. Rogacheva The article focuses on the conception of the cantata «Night clouds» by G. Sviridov, on words by A. Blok. The article briefly describes the history of creation of this opus, talks about two versions of the cantata. Both versions are compared from the point of view of interpretation, dramaturgy, form. Also reveals the specificity of the poems included in the cantata, and shows features of the application of musical-expressive means in the work with these texts by the composer. Each of the rooms cantata characterized from the point of view of the peculiarities of the choral texture. Thus between the numbers of the cantata reveals the connection, at the level of subtext, intonational, poetry and music techniques associated with the transmission of visual images associated with painting. In the work the following conclusions: each of the cantatas rooms performed as a kind of musical-a painting; composer deliberately makes each of them different from the rest, using the choral texture; in drama Sviridov’s cantata relates to the concept of the Russian symbolism of Blok.
