Music and Time Annotation << Back Cornet-a-pistons in Russia: the Instrument and the Outstanding Performers of XIX – First Half XX Centuries L.E. Gouriev The article provides information about the history of the cornet-a-piston, the most prominent figures that influenced the Russian performing school. The author tells about staying in Russia Jean Arban, an outstanding virtuoso of his time. There are hypotheses of his relationship with Russian musicians. The activity of the Russian virtuosos, especially professors of the Moscow Conservatory, and their artistic heritage is the particular interest of article. The article contained the information about the Russian cornet school, its culmination and completion. Works for cornet Russian`s authors are especial virtuosity and grace.
