Articulation in Mozart’s Clavier Compositions |

In article the articulation is analyzed from different positions. First, its value as musicological term is considered. It is judged,
that the articulation is a term of a special sort behind which one concrete, unequivocal and well defined sense is fixed not, and wide
enough and various field of alternative values.
Second, the role of an articulation in compositions for clavier Mozart is allocated, signs on an articulation in the schedule of the
composer are analyzed and systematized. Characterizing system of expressive means of XVIII century, the most significant features
found reflection in Mozart’s texts, – polyfunctionality and semantic many-sided nature are allocated. Concrete musical examples
from Mozart’s compositions for clavier value of an articulation as the major expressive means, capable to emphasize a structural or intonational structure comes to light and proves to be true, to reveal and designate dynamic or harmonious logic, to show rhythmical
subordination. Thirdly, forms of display of an articulation as expressive means of performing interpretation are shown and concretized. Its features, such as variability, individual predisposition, dependence on the factors taking place directly in the musical text and determined by an art context are emphasized.
