The Wind is Singing its Notes… (in Memory of Aleksander Sats) |

А.I. Sats (1941–2007) – pianist, music educator and editor. At the age of 14 he began to take lessons on the piano from Leonid Brumberg, pupil and assistant of the legendary Heinrich Neuhaus. After a year of practice Sats was adopted in Gnesins musical school. In 1956, he was adopted at the second course in the Gnessins Academy of music in Moscow. After having been graduated, in 1963, he was invited as a lecturer. Eight years later Sats became Professor at the Academy. In 1989 he emigrated to the United States. In 1991, he became Professor at the Academy of music and fine arts in Graz (Austria). To begin with 1999, he was a visiting Professor of the Royal Academy of music in London. He has held master classes in many European countries, gave concerts in countries of the former USSR, as well in Austria, Italy, France, UK, Germany, Taiwan. Sats participated in prestigious international music festivals named after Gideon Kremer in Lockenhaus (Austria) and Orlando festival (the Netherlands). Among the most famous disciples of A.I. Szasz were Boris Berezovsky, Lilya Zilberstein, Yevgeny Sudbin.
