Sound Semantic Games: the Word and Music in Luciano Berio’s «Symphony» |

Article is devoted to one of the most known musical compositions of the XX century – Luciano Berio’s «Symphony». Unlike many domestic and foreign researchers, the author of article focuses attention on all five parts of «Symphony» for a researching of interaction between verbal and musical rows. The author studies a question about influence of a phonetic component on quality of vocal sound extraction and a problem of formation of innovative vocal sound by means of inclusion of the separate phonemes with their specific sounding in musical row. The author reveals the general principles of work with the verbal material on the basis of interaction between separate phonemes and lexemes. These principles promote composition association. Single question is a researching of relation between Berio’s «Symphony» and Maler’s Symphony № 2. This question helps to explain the name of the composition of Berio and the principle of a choice of literary texts for work.
