Music and Time Annotation << Back Transformation of Agape in the Musical Culture of the Baroque A. Chetverikova This article talks about the unique transformation of Christian love for God «agape» , which took place in the mainstream of the Baroque era as an example of its musical culture. The aim of the author sees a demonstration change ethical and moral guidance through the influence of such trends in the art as pietism, Rococo, the cult of a beautiful lady, «amore», which resulted in a departure from the prevailing image in the musical culture consuming love for God and go to demonstrations in music language passionate love of man to man. With the help of philosophical, historical and cultural analysis in the article revealed a change in the interpretation of these topics in the musical language, as well as the presence in the musical culture of the Baroque new thematic material, has had an impact on the development in the subsequent musical history. It is concluded that the unique musical culture of the Baroque and secrete a Christian worldview and courtly medieval culture.
