Music and Time Annotation << Back The Artistic Methods of Sonorism in the Music for Button Accordion A. Yeschenko In this article the author analyzes the sonoristic techniques in the music for bayan written by Russian composers in the XXth and the beginning of the XXIst centuries. The author investigates the potential of sonoristic techniques and features of its practical realization on bayans of different types. In the works of the first half of the XXth century when the bayans with «standard bass» system without register switches were widespread, the sonoristic techniques were rather uncommon. The sonoristic potential is the most substantial on register instruments (cassotto-converter). Beginning with year 1951 when the above mentioned design of bayan appeared, there were great number of pieces with sonoristic episodes composed. Author studies the technical execution and role of the sonoristic techniques, paying great attention to the most characteristic semantic figures. The analyzed material includes works by S. Berinsky, S. Gubaidulina, V. Zolotarev, A. Kusyakov, I. Panitsky, A. Shalaev and others.
