Music and Time Annotation << Back Touches to R.K. Shchedrin's «Self-Portrait» in the Spirit of Ноmmage T. Krasnikova Interpretation of R.K. Shchedrin’s «Self-Portrait» orchestra composition is presented in the paper. Features of stylistic identity of the composition studied in the context of the composer’s author style are detected. The problem of musical text meaning is also put forward herein and developed by way of the composer’s dialogue with other forms of art, particularly by way of involving analogies from the sphere of portrait painting and the sphere of musical portrait of wide history and style range: from the Renaissance till the present day. As a result of such correlations the composition is construed as a peculiar artistic outline of its author’s life and fate, his profound and unique inner world which is presented against the background of collisions and antinomies of modern culture.
