Music and Time Annotation << Back Overtone Dialogue and Its Symbols in the Early European Music V. Shuranov In the paper the general logic of forming of the just intonation in the early European music and its modal and composition structures is traced. Acoustic properties of the sound which have been reflected in symbolical and metaphysical concepts of the twofold (sacral and dialogical) objective reality lie at the heart of this logic. The examples which show the influence of the archetype of fifth on the mode and syntax of early European music are given. Besides the prospect of its influence on the internal structure of the music of later epoch is designated.
