Music and Time Annotation << Back English Organ Music of the 20th Century and P. Whitlock's Works T. Pyzhova The aim of the paper is to submit the name of the unknown composer and organist of the twentieth century Percy Whitlock (1903–1946) and to acquaint the music world of Russia with his creative writing. The characteristics of his style, the continuity of traditions are written as well as his role in England organ art and the biography of the composer which was translated into Russian for the first time. We can face a brief review of Whitlock’ compositions and the analysis of one of the the most striking of his works – «Plymounth Suite». Keywords: English music, P. Whitlock, R.
