Music and Time Annotation << Back The German Piano Makers in Russia D.H. Lomtev The work of German piano makers in Russia in the end of 18th century – the first half of the 19th century will be analyzed on the basis of printed sources (periodicals and the reports of exhibitions) and the instruments, which are kept to this day in Russia’s museums. Particular attention is focused on Johann Wirth and Heinrich Hermann Lichtenthal, whose instruments were used by the famous Russian musicians. Key words: piano making in Russia, J. Wirth, H.H.
