Galimovа The article deals with the problem of developing children’s ear for music in choral singing classes, taking into account the specifics of the Sunday school. Different ages of children coming to the group, different levels of training, time limits for classes require a special approach and skill of the Sunday school teacher-musician. The methods of developing children’s musical ear in scientific and educational literature, the role of choral singing in improving the quality of intonation are considered. The authors emphasize the importance of the complex development of the singer’s personality to improve auditory skills, the life-supporting function of hearing (the ability to listen and "hear" another person, oneself, the aesthetics of auditory perception in the environment, the skill of auditory perception of information). A survey of regents, choirmasters, singing teachers working with children in churches revealed insufficient coordination between hearing and voice as the main problem in the performance skills of students, and also made it possible to generalize their experience in improving the musical ear of singers. The work experience of one of the authors as a regent of the children’s Sunday school at the Holy Trinity Monastery and the Cossack Church of St. Seraphim of Sarovsky, Tyumen.
