Music and Time Annotation << Back Teaching the Art of Playing Wind Instruments in an Ensemble: the Experience of Building an Experimental Model Wang Bojian The article explores the possibilities of improving the process of teaching the art of ensemble performance on wind instruments at the university. Based on the results of a comparative analysis of scientific pedagogical research and methodological developments on the issues under study, curricula and the study of the practice of teaching the art of ensemble performance in Russian universities, the author defi nes the intensifi cation of the academic load in the ensemble classes through the participation of students in a larger number of mixed ensembles as the main "zone" of possible improvement. Proceeding from the assumption that participation in ensembles of mixed compositions is more effective in terms of the development of auditory and motor skills, the development of a sense of vertical, the author constructs a methodological model designed for four years of study and including mandatory preparation for competitions, in which students of brass performance during the educational process participate in four types of ensembles – homogeneous brass, mixed wind instruments, mixed wind ensembles featuring both brass and woodwinds, mixed ensembles featuring stringed wind instruments and piano. The purpose of the experimental model is to ensure that the student of spiritual performance during his studies at the university went through the most variable and complex complex of artistic and technical tasks in ensemble performance, bringing his professional skills in this field of art to maximum readiness in accordance with modern requirements. One of the most important conclusions proposed in the conclusion of the article is the statement about the need to update the educational repertoire in the ensemble classes to work with future brass musicians.
