To the 160th Anniversary of the First Russian Conservatory Professor of the Leningrad Conservatory Daria Mikhailovna Musina-Pushkina (1873–1947) |
N.B. Seliverstova
The article is devoted to the life and work of the undeservedly forgotten professor of the Leningrad Conservatory Daria Mikhailovna Musina-Pushkina, an actress, singer, vocal teacher and director, a faithful follower of the system of mimic-plastic expressiveness F. Delsarte. The very name and teaching of Delsarte, so popular in the XIX and early XX centuries, is also half-forgotten today, although it was his ideas that formed the basis of Jacques-Dalcroze’s teaching about the harmonization of man through plastic, largely anticipating both Meyerhold’s biomechanics and Stanislavsky’s system. Daria Musina’s contribution to the development of the idea of the relationship between speech and plastic expressiveness in dramatic and vocal art is important a stage in the development of modern theater.
Keywords: mimic-plastic expressiveness, Delsarte system, opera and drama theater, studio, conservatory.
