Music and Time Annotation << Back Aesthetic and Philosophical Foundations of the Creative Work of Viktor Uliani M.A. Stepanova The article considers the features of the composer’s creativity and essays by Viktor Ulianich from the standpoint of the philosophical, aesthetic and religious guidelines present in them. The degree of the composer’s outlook on the formation of the musical-theoretical concept of his works, the choice of the performing compositions of the works and on the invention in the genre sphere of influence related with the creation of a new type of instrumental music, called "svetoznony" are determined. In the fi eld of form it was expressed in the appeal to the principle of fractality, which manifested itself in natural structural and numeric proportions, the “golden ratio”, projected onto the rhythm, melody, and texture of works. The computer composition "The Star Wind of Cassiopeia", works of cantata-oratorio genres and the cycle "The Mystery of Light" for various orchestral ensembles are proposed to support these judgments. In the essays of Viktor Ulianich, two main branches of his reasoning can be traced: articles about his own work and reflections about music, composer's creativity, the place of the composer in the modern world, and about art in general. Emphasis is placed on the specifics of the correlation between the images of the spiritual internal and external space, on the proximity the aesthetic and philosophical views of the composer to the ideas of the representatives of Russian cosmism, as well as the central place of the Christian faith in his perception of the world.
