The Genre of Barcarole in the Piano Work of A.G. Rubinstein |
A.G. Garanova
The article analyzes the piano work of the outstanding Russian musician, pianist, composer and public figure of the 19th century Anton Grigorievich Rubinstein. Rubinstein’s creative activity had a huge impact on the development of music not only in Russia, but also in other countries. The composer’s connections with Russian and European musical culture, the formation and development of his performing and composing style can be clearly seen on the example of barcarole.Rubinstein's appeal to this genre was not accidental. In the work of Anton Grigorievich, barcarole evolves from a miniature into a large-scale, concert work. The composer saturates the barcarole with new elements, creates his own individual form. It is no coincidence that these plays by Rubinstein were included in the repertoire of many musicians - from his contemporaries to pianists of the 21st century.
Keywords: Anton Grigorievich Rubinstein, barcarole, Giovanni Rubini, Felix Mendelssohn, Frederic Chopin, individual form.
