Trends of Multiculturalism in the Work of Azerbaijani Composer Sardar Farajev |

The study highlights the trends of multiculturalism in the context of modern Azerbaijani musical culture and specifi cally, in the work of a talented Azerbaijani composer, Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor Sardar Farajev. The infl uence of multiculturalism on the development of musical culture and the importance of its place in the work of the outstanding Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli and his followers – representatives of the Azerbaijani composing school are emphasized. The study of the traditions of multiculturalism in various aspects in the work of S. Farajev is presented on the example of a number of musical works of the composer. The article presents a brief analysis of the following works: the "Morning Prayer" quartet, reflecting some of the features of the ancient Turkish religion of worshiping Tengri (God of Heaven), the "Fire Applause" quartet about the worship of fire, "Psalm 150", characteristic of the religion of Judaism, a vocal and instrumental work "Sur passiving love", addressed to the rites of Christianity, the play "Starry Night", written for the theatrical performance "Sunrise in Karbala", dedicated to the traditions of the Muslim religion. All these works are written in different genres and are intended for different compositions of instruments.
