Timbre and Stylistic Features of the Neo-Folklore Composer Language. Part 1 |
S.Yu. Gutova
The article examines the timbre and stylistic features of the modern folklore composer language. They are based on pre-song traditional folklore and rely on the overtone-resonant basis of authentic singing. Various phonation techniques, both singing and speech, helped composers develop certain styles of timbre-intonational musical expressiveness – pictorial-imitation, intonation-speech and intonation-melodic. Modeling these sound images creates the timbre-acoustic sonority necessary for the work and gives it a certain musical-aesthetic image, resonating with the tradition of folklore thinking and forming a new composer method.
Keywords: composer folklorism, authentic timbre, authentic singing, tempocentrism, folklore thinking, timbre-intonation, timbre-register singing, timbre modeling.
