Zubareva The revival of children’s mass choral performance is a very important and responsible stage in the cultural, moral, and spiritual development of modern society. Children’s mass choral singing occupies an important place in the history of Russian choral culture. The article discusses the problems and prospects for the revival of children’s mass choral singing at the present stage. The functions (educational, educational, social, health-saving) of children’s choral singing in the history of Russia are highlighted. Based on an analysis of the survey results among choir musicians, recommendations and conditions for the effectiveness of the revival of children’s mass choral singing in a comprehensive school were developed. In selecting the most effective methods of choral work with children, one should draw on the experience of progressive methodologists of the past and the present, as well as the modern sociocultural conditions in which children live. A distinctive feature of the recommendations developed by us is the principle of meta-subject. Choral singing should go beyond the scope of a school subject in terms of the content and forms of work, its content and activities should help discover personal meanings for schoolchildren, their parents, their close circle. A true revival of choral singing is possible only on condition that choral culture occupies a worthy place in the hierarchy of values of modern man.
