Music and Time Annotation << Back «The Siloti Concerts» at the Small Hall of the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory M.V. Mikheeva «The Siloti Concerts», established at 1903 at Saint-Petersburg, soon became the notable event of musical life of the capital. The «Russian Musical Newspaper» and thematic parts of another socio-political newspapers («The Saint-Petersburg Statements», «The Russian Statements», «Russia», «Russian Word», etc.) constantly announced about foreign musicians, benefits of Russian celebrities and musical anniversaries, reported about pieces and their performance, especially emphasized various premieres. The article is devoted to the history of concert organization «The Siloti Concerts» at the stage of Small Hall of the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory (from 1903 till 1917). There are thematic concerts, outstanding performers – participants of symphonic, chamber and vocal concerts – are mentioned. Special attention is on the meeting with contemporary foreign composers.
