Music and Time Annotation << Back Motive-plastic signs (MPZ) and the interpretation concept S.Ya. Vartanov In the article, the development of the ideas put forward by the author in the monograph: Vartanov S.Ya. «Concept in piano interpretation: under the sign of F. Liszt and S. Rachmaninoff». Moscow: Composer, 2013. 584 p. The system of theoretical views on the problems of piano-performing interpretation in the aggregate of the main aspects is considered. 1. The stages of evolution are outlined: Beethoven, Liszt, Rachmaninov. 2. Generalizes the views of these «geniuses of the piano». 3. Introduces the concept of multilateral dialogue - his pianist leads: with the composition; with the image of the author; with world artistic and piano culture; with the tool; with the audience. 3. A method of integrating the concept is proposed, corresponding to the approaches of modern humanitarian science – the concept is considered as the result of diffuse interpenetration of five forms of perception by the performer, types of text. Acoustic text – auditory perception; the author's musical text is a visual perception of the fact; plastic text – sensory-tactile perception of the keyboard; inter-text – each text is like a mosaic of citations of other texts; the mental interpretation text is the final resulting text, theatrical and directorial integration of the concept in the imaginary «one-actor theater» of the pianist’s mind on the basis of these types of text. 4. Of particular importance is the instrument of integrating the concept, which we introduce into theory and practice – the concept of the motive-plastic sign (MPZ).
