Music and Time Annotation << Back The History of Music in Aesthetic Dimension A.I. Maslizkova This article, the idea of which appeared as the result of our previous research of the connection between A.N. Scriabin’s musical creativity and aesthetic thoughts, is devoted to the reconstruction of the history of music in aesthetic dimension in context of the other branches of Art (painting, sculpture, architecture, theater). The category of musical-and-aesthetic is the backbone of our research and by using it we would like to emphasize how various ideas can be conveyed in musical sounds. Having defined the main aesthetic categories (beautiful and ugly, sublime and low, tragic and comic), we consistently representing the evolution of the way of their expression in music from Antiquity to the present days. The method of analysis of music through the prism of philosophical ideas of the time will be beneficial or helpful not only to musicologists, but also to performers and music teachers.
