Tavrizyan Article presents an analysis and interpretation of composing methods and techniques as meaning-creating in a film. The film in question is "American Beauty" (1999) and its soundtrack by Thomas Newman. Article is largely dependent on the musical term "sound" as a main feature, form of being and composing technique in postmodern soundtrack. This analysis moves from smallest musical elements that have value in meaning-making to more major concepts that have significant impact on the meaning of the film as a whole.
