Soviet Composers and Musical Culture of Nalchik in the Years of War: Peculiarities of Conversation of Kabardian and Balkarian Musical Folklore
A.V. Gucheva, M.M. Sherieva

The article describes the military musical and cultural system of the republic, its change and significance, as well as a series of the facts of participation and reflection of musical folklore in the works of Soviet composers. The problems of the implementation of musical folklore in the composer's work of S. Prokofiev in the Kabardin quartet and N. Myaskovsky in the Twenty-third Symphony are considered. The features of composer use of musical folklore of Kabardians and Balkarians in the specified works are revealed. It is noted that professional music under the influence of musical folklore is distinguished by its own musical lexical language. The use of genuine folklore works led not only to the enrichment of the music and lexical language, but also to the formation of a new direction of professional music. The correlation of samples of musical folklore and professional art from the point of view of composer's writing and the used method of «implanting» the song and instrumental material into professional classical music allows us to note the possible coexistence of various approaches to their combination. The composer's free approach to folklore is not limited to the use of authentic musical and textual sources, or certain intonational and rhythmic elements, but is often enriched with new forms with his own folklore symbolism, which corresponds to authentic sounding in the context of a professional composer's work.
Keywords: musical folklore of Kabardians and Balkarians, Nalchik, Prokofi ev, Kabardian quartet, Myaskovsky, symphony.
