About Genre and Style Features Chamber Vocal Works of Fanny Hensel |
G.I. Palyan
The article investigates the genre aspect of the songs of the composer of the first half of the 19th century, the sister of Felix Mendelssohn, Fanny Hensel. As a genre basis, a German song (Lied) is singled out, which is influenced by other genre influences: barcarole, opera aria, recitative. F. Hensel's vocal miniatures are interpreted as an innovative continuation of the tradition of the second Berlin school Lied, learned through her teacher Karl Zelter. This process is considered on the example of the early song "Yearning for Italy". The main genre kind of Lied F. Hansel is a lyrical song, however there is also a narrative song, as well as works with ballad features. Barcarolle is interpreted as an introduced influence embodied by means of metrorhythm and texture. Aria and recitative in the songs of F. Hansel show themselves locally, at the level of vocal style of a few works or their parts.
Keywords: Fanny Hensel, vocal work, genre, Lied, lyric song, ballad, narrative song, verse form, barcarole, aria, recitative.
