Music and Time Annotation << Back Domenico Scarlatti: Exersizi of the Future A.D. Grigorieva The article is devoted to the creativity of Domenico Scarlatti, which became the pinnacle of Italian clavier art. In his 555 sonatas for harpsichord (the composer himself modestly called them the word exersizi), he opened the horizons of musical art of the Enlightenment. In no small part of these sonatas wore a transitional harakter, which is especially concerned with the group of works written in the tradition of the socalled gallant style or rococo. The cardinal novelty of the main array of sonatas consisted in the formation of the laws of the classical sonata form. As for the figurative world, the composer managed to convey with exceptional expressiveness in his music the fundamental features of Early Enlightenment, namely the incomparable love of life associated with access to the historical arena of the socalled third estate educational democratism and what is best defined by the concept of energy. Extremely important for creativity Scarlatti is the range of images that corresponded to "childhood", "adolescence", and "infancy" then nascent Enlightenment. Domenico Scarlatti was a direct forerunner of musical classics of the second half of the XVIII century, but especially surprising are his artistic breakthroughs for almost the entire XIX century and even the anticipation of certain realities of music of the ХХ century.
