Music and Time Annotation << Back St. Petersburg Opera Stage Direction in its Relations with the Western European Theatrical Process N.B. Seliverstova This article considers the rapid development of the original St. Petersburg Opera Director of the Silver age which has experienced various influences innovative ideas of European theatre. First of all, this "historical archeologist" plays Over the theater tour which has had a huge impact on the Director of the Mariinsky theatre Joseph Palecek started my own search in the field "stage of truth", trying to spread the new aesthetics and staging musical dramas of Wagner. Relevant at the turn of XIX–XX centuries the ideas of artistic naturalism was largely determined by the nature of the activities "of the theatre of musical drama" under the leadership of Iosif Lapitsky, which gave the Director the right to intervene in the musical score in the name of dynamism and "batophobia" stage action. The most organic for the St. Petersburg Opera scene was the idea of conventional theatre, which developed and embodied in the practice of the Mariinsky theatre of Vsevolod Meyerhold, achieving unity shaped areas of music and visual range, using stage metaphors, including the multiplicity of meanings and artistic associations. Appeal to the origins of the St. Petersburg Opera Director gives the opportunity to trace the stages of formation of a new theatrical aesthetics in different directions, as well as to assess the future of creative research such prominent figures of musical theatre as Joseph Palecek, Joseph Lapitsky and Vsevolod Meyerhold.
