The article is devoted to one of the most known chamber music works of Josef Suk – four pieces op. 17 for violin and piano. In
our times the works of J. Suk despite their merits are played rather rarely. But as a matter of fact his own particular style, brightness
of the musical material may become a source of inspiration for musicians playing his works.
Josef Suk is considered the "father" of Czheck modernism as he not only continued Dvorak’s tradition but he eleborated his
style of musical thinking.
J. Suk was a brilliant violinist of his time, creator of the famous "Prague quartet". It speaks about his particular interest in
chamber music. Four pieces op. 17 for violin and piano is the most significant example.
In the process of study and performance may arise some problems and tasks. The author of the article proposes the solution
of some of them.
