Music and Time Annotation << Back Professor and Student: the Study of the Sveshnikov’s Creative Method in the Yurlov’s Thesis P.E. Karpov The article is devoted to creative tandem (professor – student) of outstanding Russian choral figures XX century are Sveshnikov A.V. and Yurlov A.A. The becoming and the formation of Yurlov as the conductor took place under the Sveshnikov’s influence from the boy’s choir school of the Leningrad chapel to postgraduate studies of the Moscow Conservatory. The source of the article was performing dissertation of Yurlov A. (1954), written under the supervision of Sveshnikov. This scientific work was a synthesis of the Sveshnikov’s creative method. In the framework of research is determined the central task in the choir rehearsals. In the practical part of the thesis presents the vocal exercises are required to develop singing skills. The particular importance in the study is given the vocal vowels articulation, speech exercises. Rehearsal work in professional choirs (The State Chorus of Russian song) is divided by Yurlov into two phases: «initial» and «unity». The Yurlov’s thesis represents the initial phase of the study the choral conducting school of outstanding choral master of Sveshnikov.
