Domra Alto Playing
and the Repertoire Problem |

The article is devoted to the problems of development of virtuoso potential of the instrument reborn by V.V. Andreyev in the
late XIX century, in the works of contemporary composers. Vigorous concert activity of the Great Russian orchestra created by
V.V. Andreyev in 1896 awakened in society a great interest to the Russian national musical culture and musical tools. The history
of development of family of three-stringed domras originates from the basis of the Great Russian orchestra: piccolo, small, mezzosoprano,
alt, tenor, bass, contrabass. The destiny of each of tools is in own way interesting and deserves special researches.
Masterly opportunities of an alt domra as solo tool attracted attention composers only in the last quarter of the XX century. In the
next decades for the tool the concert repertoire was created, the foundation of a vocational education to game on the tool is laid.
Within the last decades the alt domra even more often sounds from a scene as the soloist tool. However a serious obstacle for
development of young alt school there is a limitation of genres and forms of original repertoire.
