Music and Time Annotation << Back About the Influence of Certain Kinds of Emotions Over the Pianist’s Physical Health (the History of the «Emotion» Phenomenon) N.S. Gavrilova Some kinds of human activities (dancers, athletes, acrobats etc.) have certain common physical injuries, and generally parallel with them, there are specific categories of physicians who studies the different types of injuries treating these professionals. The performing musicians usually have to look for such doctors-rescuers, and that’s why they often have to learn their own injuries and their consequences themselves. This article describes the impact of emotions «pleasure – displeasure», «convenience – inconvenience» and «desire» for pianist’s physical health, in our particular case, for the state of his muscles, ligaments and tendons, carrying especially heavy load; justifies the preference of using classical technique art during the development of the pianistic skills and new music material parsing; stresses the importance of the phenomenon «attention» as the main reason for the concentration on any issues of the consciousness, even temporarily staying in the unconscious state. Appealing to the history of the phenomenon of «emotion» seems to the author as f paramount importance for the understanding of human emotions. A review of various information (scientific, experimental, metaphysical, psychological) about emotions offers the pianists to look at their physical health with this possibly unexpected point of view and encourages readers to intelligently control their emotions in order to achieve the most positive results in their professional activities.
