Luigi Nono’s «Tre epitaffi per Federico García Lorca»:the Red Avant-Gardist’s Birth |

The paper is focused on the esthetic paradox of Nono’s music. The creative personality of the Italian composer strangely combined the active political position of Italian communist with refined musical language of musical avant-gardist. In his first vocal work «Federico Garcia Lorca’s Epitaphs» the communist composer combines citing of Italian revolutionary proletarian songs with use of serial technique receptions organizing the most difficult texture of the musical composition. The premiere of «Epitaphs» caused ambiguous reaction among figures of Darmstadt that over time led to ideological split in the school. The paper aims to reveal an seamlessness of political engagement and the vanguard musical language.
